Good Alternative and Expiration
Purchased in January 2025 and expiration is for December 2025. Even though the price has recently increased, it is still an affordable alternative to the name brand stuff. It takes time to see results, but stick with it. I've found it is easiest to apply after a shower with damp hair, that way the foam isn't absorbing into dry hair and can reach the scalp. Also worth mentioning (since many don't know) that it is important to wash your hands after applying as the chemical is toxic to pets.

Perfect for Thinning Hair
This is the best brand and the only one that has helped me with thinning hair and promoting hair growth. I have been using this product consistently for over three months, sometimes applying it once or twice a day. So far, I have noticed significant hair growth, including the appearance of baby hairs. I love that it comes in liquid form because it absorbs into my hair and scalp without dripping onto my face.On the bottle, it says not for women, but it is okay for women to use once you have a conversation with your dermatologist and they approve it.

It Definitely Works, thank Goodness
I can speak to the fact that this product works if your hair loss is due to age-related male or female pattern hair loss. If you're not sure, you should get a diagnosis. My doctor correctly diagnosed, but I got a 2nd opinion from a Dermatologist because as a woman I didn't want to hear that it was genetic rather than circumstantial, but genetic meant it wasn't temporary. He told me to do a hair count each day for a couple weeks, but I kept it up for a few months. I went from losing over 100 hairs when shampooing--truly alarming!-- to now seeing 4 or 5 hairs a day. 5% was lab-tested for men, so that's why the manufacturers label it that way. My Dermatologist said he prescribes 5% for both men and women. But my first buy was the 2% labeled for women which seems to only come in the liquid. Either product is supposed to be applied to the scalp, not hair, but it is inevitable some of your hair will get included. I don't like to wash my hair more than about 1 time a week and found the 2% liquid meant washing my hair every 3 days at best. It includes propylene glycol which tends to make my hair strands greasy quickly. I ordered the foam to use instead since the glycol isn't in it and I can go over a week without washing my hair. If you're a woman you know how hairspray build up makes your hair easier to work with and the residue from foam Minoxidil does that too. I started using Minoxidil Sept 3, and by October 13 or sooner, I could see tiny hair activity. I was fearing the initial hair loss, but if it caused any I was already losing a lot each day, so there was no giant obvious hair purge for me. The photos are hard to capture the progress. My photos are 2 from when I'd been applying it for a month and 2 from today, 5 months later. If you have been losing hair for years then it will not all come back, but anything that hasn't scarred over (like my bald husband who lost his in his 20s before Minoxidil) will come back quickly. It's just that it t takes a while to feel or see the thickening from root to hair ends. It takes longer for we women who wear our hair longer since the comeback hairs have to catch up. I applied Minoxidil only once per day in the evening, not always at the same time but as close as I can. It now takes me only 10 minutes or less, at first it was 15 to 20. I apply it as shown by a NYU Langone Health video on Youtube. This is a lifetime commitment since you will begin losing the hair again when you stop. I figure when you're 80 if it gets to be too much you can just start wearing cute hats and scarves.

Great!
It’s honestly a pretty good alternative to Rogaine.

Good product. Not to expensive. Foam makes the use easier.
Very good product. Price is still reasonnable. I recommand.Foam makes the use easier, but you need to know that you need a bit more foam than the ad says... And on bottle is not enough for a month. Buy a bit more / month.

Affordable treatment for thinning hair
I've been using Minoxidil for a few years, and it’s worked wonders for my hair. The topical liquid is effective when applied to clean hair, but it can get greasy on second-day hair. Since washing and heat styling my hair every day would be too damaging, I decided to try the Kirkland foam version, which is applied once daily. It’s much easier on my scalp and causes less greasiness. After using the foam a few times, I’m happy with the results. Kirkland's version works great and is affordable for most budgets. I’m a huge fan and fully recommend it to anyone managing thinning hair!
