I like a good firm cotton swab. Generally called a q tip, regardless of the manufacturer. In my experience, the generic type brands of cotton swabs have not been firm enough for my tastes, so I have avoided them. The price was right and I had a grocery order almost at the free delivery level and I grabbed these. Q tip used to make a wooded shaft cotton swab and I loved those. They really allowed you to really get in there and do what one does with a cotton swab. I use them for a verity of things and when the shaft bends or isn’t rigid enough the cleaning takes twice as many swabs and twice as long. These bend pretty easy. Even just removing them from the package, they bend. In the untouched area of the package some swabs are misaligned. All acceptable for a reasonable price. In the photo you can see 3 swabs. The q tip (about 5% bigger and sturdier), the Amazon brand and an off brand of bamboo cotton swab (the smallest and sturdiest of the 3). In a pinch, if the price is right, delivered, I’ll buy these again, no issue at all. 4 stars, they’re almost 5 stars, even q tip brand are bendy.

Every bit as good as Q tip. These swabs have a generous amount of cotton tightly wound on each end that does not come loose. The little paper shaft is nice and rigid with just the right amount of flex. Not only do I use these to keep my ears clean, i also use them for cleaning and applying oil to small parts. There is no point in paying the extra money for the big brand names. These are every bit as good, if not better.
