Sawhorse Heading Dummy
So far this steer head has held up. I’m not a fan of attaching these to hay bales so I went with a DIY sawhorse (got sawhorse brackets and 2x4s at Home Depot). I attached the stakes to the top of the sawhorse using fence nails (U shaped nails) and zip ties. I then added 4” inches of wood on top of that to bring the neck line up to the proper spot. If you don’t add the wood on top of the stakes the head will sit too high and you won’t have a realistic catch. I also made the back legs shorter than the front ones to give the head a tilt backwards. I added some bandage tape (blue) to the head area to give the effect of horn wraps.

Roping dummy
I bought this to mount to my own roping dummy. It worked well. The picks were able to tack down with fencing nails/staples and carve a grove out for the picks to sit flush to the “body” of the roping dummy.

No bull - it'll gitter done.
First impressions from the box: feels durable and about as heavy as I would expect for something build to take abuse. The rods are 1/4 in diameter on the dummy I received, 14" long (metal threaded sockets for the rods are 4.5 inches apart, from center to center). The spread on the horns I measured at 22" (they say everything is bigger in Texas... Maybe that's how the manufacturer found an extra inch to include in the sellers description?).Will add to this review once I've put some loops on it.

Caution! Needs bolts
I bought this for my nephew, along with a stand. He loved it! Only downside, it didn't come with bolts to attach to a frame. My father was able to save the day by digging some up from his workshop, so all was well. Just be prepared if wanting to attach to a frame!

Would buy again
My 5 year old loves his steer head. I had planned on building him a base to mount this on but he actually drives the rods into the ground and uses it that way.Definitely sturdy, it sits outside in the weather and still has held up nicely.
