Great light for low tech plants, perfect for rimless tanks
I have a 20 gallon long that I removed the plastic rim on and this light is perfect for my setup. I have S. Repens, Dwarf Sag, Hydrocotyle Tripartita, Marsilea Crenata, and some dwarf hairgrass and this light is giving me slow healthy growth. Since my tank is only 12" high, the light needs to be just right to avoid algae. I have zero algae, although I will admit I do inject CO2 which helps with algae for sure. My Hair Grass isn't doing great tbh, but it's not a low light plant period. I have had these lights for years and find them to be perfect for low light plants. I wouldn't try to grow anything else, it just won't work. No gimmicks, simple on/off switch which works perfect with an external timer, which many lights don't work the same, you have to go into the settings and reprogram everything every time the power is switched off or they are on 24/7. The legs are nice, clear plastic that fit perfectly on a rimless tank and can be secured, unlike the cheap black metal legs that come with many other lights. Have had them for years, no problems, worth the money imo, highly recommend.

Functions exactly how it should.
This is a great light for my 5.5 gallon betta tank with some plants. I have it on a mechanical timer so I don't have to manually turn it on and off, and it never has a problem. All the leds function after a year of use, looking exactly the way it was when I plugged it in. When I first started using it, I noticed a difference in my plants instantly. It was wonderful.I like this light is simple, just a plug, a switch and the light. I would have liked one with the night mode, but I was watching the cost of everything for now. I'm also not a serious hobbyist, but it is fun to have fish and plants. If i was, I would probably get the Finnex Planted+ 24/7 Fully Automated Aquarium LED, Controller, 20 Inch or a different Finnex light.I love that this is LED, it makes it very low maintenance, but looks great. The mounting adapters are nice too. It allows it to be mounted to different tanks without a problem, and allows for a decent amount of width adjustments. The 16 inch was perfect for my 5.5 gallon tank, but I did make sure to measure first. There is nothing bad to say about this product, I knew what it would do, and that is exactly what I got, which is great. I was surprised how well my plants reacted though.Of course, keep water off of this light, its designed to be above the water, not in it.

Great light with some minor (mostly preferential) issues
This light is fantastic for low-medium light plants. Makes my plants look fantastic in photographs, but for the fish, it depends where they are in the tank.I think this world work best for a rimless tank without an aquarium lid. Maybe screwed inside a hood, too. Unfortunately, I keep bettas and this is not an option, since they can and will jump out.My issues with it: with a glass hood, the hinge/bar in the center blocks the light. I either have to push it forward (light stays in front,) or back (some light comes to front.) I'm fine with that, but at first I did lose some foreground plants due to inadequate lighting. The plastic clips/screws to keep it on the edge slide around on the rim and have fallen down several times. I'd like something more stable for tanks with a rim. Maybe make this adjustable, and add the ability to lock it in place. Now, as for why I give this such a high rating: the plants it works well for, it works REALLY well for. My wisteria is growing like crazy- so much, I lost some plants because it was blocking them from the light. Not a problem, I've got it all figured out now. My anubias and swords are doing great, and I had plants that were dying under previous lower lights come back to life and now have shootings growing as well.Overall, great light, and it's paying itself off in all the plants I'm getting. The growth is just enough I can change up my scape every couple of weeks to months, while still having enough plants to trim/be creative.(For those who are wondering- this tank has thick dividers that are non permeable which I have thoroughly siliconed in place to prevent hormones from mixing.)
