Rimmel 60 Seconds Super-Shine, 8ml, Mermaid Fin

Got this polish after searching for a cute sparkly option that was also quick drying. I used about two coats upon first application. Then a couple days later (after literally no cracks at all) I decided to add a couple extra layers to make the colour a bit less transparent.I also didn’t have a problem at all with the polish being a little bit see-through. To be honest that was the effect i wanted. Apply 2 coats for a subtle iridescent effect, or 4 for a more solid colour. I’m also probably going to try applying this over different colours to see how that looks! Really though, it’s really pretty and subtle if you apply a few layers, or if you want a few extra layers it looks stunning too.I am on about day seven with this polish and there are literally no chips or cracks, and I’m somebody who washes my hands very frequently and has a job that has lots of potential nail chipping threats. I genuinely have never had a polish last this long. It seems to be a great nail strengthener too, as my nails are typically pretty weak and bendable. Excellent value for money too! Literally such a beautiful nail polish and I’m beyond impressed with how durable it is. I will most certainly be buying this again :D

Goes on nicely, dries quickly, but does not look like it does in the bottle, more like a paler version.

So first thing to bear in mind is - this is a sheer nail polish, meaning unless you're willing to apply 3-4 coats you will be able to see your natural nail underneath.However! I actually am a big fan of this, I'm 27 but I never wear heavy makeup and I wanted a nail polish that would be similar, almost like a no-makeup makeup look.This is perfect for that exact effect. It's subtle enough that it may not be noticed immediately but when it is you get a lot of compliments. I cannot yet comment on it's longevity as I do use a top coat (shout out Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri!) but the polish was applied yesterday and no signs of chipping or peeling present yet. As it is a fast drying nail polish, these do have a short life span on nails as is standard (2-3 days) so a top coat is absolutely recommended if you want a week's worth of wear out of it.I would recommend this shade to anyone who wants to paint their nails with a colour that is not marketed as being 'bold'.Update after 3 days of wear - this stuff does actually last, in 3 full days I have only one chip which was absolutely my own fault. Obviously how long a polish lasts depends on how much you use your hands, I personally feel like I use mine a lot so after 3 days I'm really happy!

Quite thin, needs a number of coats. Durable when worn with top coat. Chipped after 5 days. Nice opal bright colour

Wanted, lovely colour and sheen.

The colour of this nail varnish is very subtle compared to how it looks in the bottle and in the photo. It is very pretty and iridescent but maybe best used as a top coat over a more intense colour.
