At last a keyboard that really works
I received my Qpad mechanical keyboard today and after only a few minutes of owning it I already love it.. It arrived the next day, just as amazon said it would. Really well packaged and in perfect condition. After revealing it from the box I plugged it in and it worked, beautifully - first time - with no hassle.Hooking upI made use of the PS2 connector and that meant that I only had to find one USB port and of course the audio in and mic. The keyboard has a really handy USB hub as well as microphone and headphone sockets.I design and create web content as well as flash animations. I will make good use of the headphone jack. This is my first mechanical keyboard and I wanted the cherry blue. I like a resounding click as I type. The keystrokes are effortless and after years of using ordinary sloppy Joe keyboards, the experience of typing with this is just awesome.. With the back light facility I feel for the first time special and spoilt. The comments I read from other reviews made up my mind to go the extra distance and finally purchase a proper hardcore keyboard. Believe me when I say that spending nearly £100 on an input device seems crazy, but sitting here now typing this review on my Qpad, it was really worth it. Glad I chose the cherry blue and boy typing in a darkened room with just the monitor glow and the blue lit keyboard is really cool..One thing that slightly annoys me is the fact that these superb keyboards seem to be aimed at gamers and to be honest there must be a whole load of guys like me that use a keyboard, a lot - every day. When I think of the years I have put up with a microsoft keyboard thinking that this was the norm. Only by chance I discovered that gamers were using mechs because of the high accuracy and all that jazz.If you type a lot and have a few quid sitting in a jar - get this keyboard. Plus it is UK specific. Sorry if this review is going on and on but I am so enjoying typin, lol

Happy fingers
I spend hours at my keyboard and after getting sick to death of 'mushy' keys I decided I would take a look at mechanical keyboards. I just wanted a 'normal' keyboard as I am no gamer. I spent days trawling the net and uTube until I didn't know if I was coming or going. Not only was I told about the boards but also the 'key switches'. My head was going round in circles thinking about Black, Blue, Red, Brown. I eventually boiled it down to two 'switches'. Brown or Blue which according to all the reviews are best for typists. Once I had got that sorted I then had to look for a board. Good grief! Have you any idea just how many there are out there! After many hours I made my decision and went for the Qpad MK-80. I KNOW it's a gaming keyboard but it had everything I wanted. I had plumped for 'Blue' switches. So I sent my order off and waited with bated breath for it to arrive, which it did the following day. (Prime). What can I say! This thing is AWESOME. First of all it's very solidly built, and heavy. Once put down on your desk this baby isn't going anywhere. I am not a lover of wrist rests but I thought what the hell and tried it out. Unlike other rests, this is softer and incredibly comfortable to use. Even after hours of typing ; of course it's your choice but I shall stick with the rest. The little feet are rubber and raise the keyboard to a very nice height and 'rake'. Again, it's up to you whether you want to use them or not. Having media keys is a boon and the back lighting is stunning. I love the blue light. Now we come to the nitty gritty.First of all, I don't have very big hands but I can use every single key without stretching. They are literally within fingertip reach. All the keys are slightly dished which fit your fingertips perfectly. Except the number pad which you have to move your hand to, but I find that a plus as you are not likely to be catching numbers whilst typing. The keys themselves are absolutely incredible to use. You only need a very light touch for the key to register and already my speed is up several notches. Some of the reviews said that Blue switches are noisy. They ARE louder than those awful rubber things but I haven't found them too bad. Perhaps if you are in an office or with family they may not like the sound of the old fashioned 'click' of a typewriter but I love it. I actually feel as though I am really typing again. And really, that 'click' isn't too bad at all. For the first time in many years I am actually ENJOYING typing again. In summary.I cannot comment on the 'gaming' aspects of this keyboard but I am sure all you gamer's out there know what you are looking for. I did notice that this board got high review marks from them though. Now, if you are a typist this is DEFINITELY the one for you. It's beautifully and solidly built, comfortable to use for long periods and the keys are out of this world. If you don't want the 'typewriter' sound then go for the Brown switches which they say are quieter but I ADORE the Blues. I know that it's expensive but if you really are wanting a Rolls Royce then you have to shell out for one. And this is going to last for ever and be a joy to use for many years. I will NEVER go back to those awful rubbery keyboards again. My fingers are in heaven, and so am I. Go on, be a devil and take the plunge. I promise that you won't regret it. I haven't.

A very nice mechanical keyboard with the relatively hard to find cherry mx blue keys which I wanted. This is not really designed for gamers, more for serious typists, the tactile feedback from the cherry mx blues is very nice although word of warning they are quite loud so best used in a solo environment as they could end up irritating coworkers. If you want a gaming keyboard then you probably want cherry mx red keys which are found on most gaming keyboards as they are better suited, If you like the blues but want a quieter keyboard then try and find someone selling a keyboard with the cheery mx browns.

Beautiful Action and Great Build Quality for Professional Computer Users
As a software developer who spends most of his life at a computer, I decided it was worth splashing out a bit extra on a decent keyboard. I used to have a replica IBM keyboard with mechanical switches some years ago and loved the light action and responsive feedback that naturally came with this key type. But then I later replaced it with a backlit keyboard because I liked to play games in the evening with minimal ambient lighting, and I then got increasingly frustrated with the mistypes and stuck keys that came with this regular keyboard if I didn't strike the keys perfectly. So I chose the Qpad MK-80 since it appeared to come with the best of both worlds. Now, after a week of using the keyboard both professionally and in gaming, I am giving it a perfect score. This keyboard is without doubt the best I've ever owned. After about a day of acclimatisation, I found the keyboard a pure joy to work on. My typing speed is up, and I have no attention on the keyboard due to keys sticking from "oblique hits".In summary, if you spend most of your life at a keyboard, do go a bit crazy and invest some £££/$$$ in this amazing instrument!
