I did some Amazon research for rooftop cargo bags before going on a 400-mile journey (and another 400 on the way back). I was pleased with this item's reviews while also keeping in mind the negative ones. So, I decided to buy this.Overall, I was happy with how it held up. Texas temperature was in the three digits (Fahrenheit) last month when we used this item. There was also a point wherein we went thru an extreme downpour, and I mean the rain was so heavy the driving visibility was reduced to maybe a mere 15 feet.When we finally got to our destination, I verified that our luggages, bags, and everything else in it remained dry.I did notice that the front seams partially broke. I literally used a duct tape to try to keep it intact.Other reviewers here mentioned about the straps falling apart. So, before making the trip, I made sure to enforce the straps by using one of my own straps which I use for my kayak.

Love this product. Went on a 2000 mile trip across the country, through wind and rain and it stayed dry and in place. The only issue we have is the straps frayed. Not sure if we can replace only straps, but plan to check into it.

I used to make a trip from Joplin, MO to Dayton Beach, FL. On the way there on of the straps ripped off of it. Thee front seam come apart and ripped open, and even in places in the center of it, it started pulling apart and developed holes in it.

This is junk! Drove 6 hours through rain and when we pulled off for the night EVERYTHING was soaked! Next morning we drove another 2 hours, got to our dictation and found out 2 corners ripped open!DONT WASTE YOUR $$

I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but after unfolding it out of the packaging, I was impressed by both the size and sturdiness of this luggage bag. It's make of thick, water resistant material and is designed well to keep water far away from the zipper. Unlike hard shell cargo carriers, it's meant to be removed after you've arrived to your destination. As such, it's designed to attach to the channel where your car door weather strip is attached. I certainly see the rationale for this, but not all weather strips are made equal. I tried pulling away the weather strip on my 2014 Chevy Traverse and never actually managed it. That could just be because I've never done it before and was nervous about tearing it. It would have been nice to include straps that could run through the interior of the car as a secondary option.My biggest beef with this product is the instruction "manual." Besides being almost too basic, they are for a method of securing the cargo bag NOT advertised on the Amazon product page. The instructions are for securing it to a roof rack... I needed to go back to the product page on Amazon to look at instructions.I look forward to using this for my next big trip!

I ordered this Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag to mount on my car for a trip we took last week. Unfortunately, my car was still in the shop (even now), repairs delayed due to parts backlog. We ended up taking the F250, loading our luggage into this cargo bag and putting it in the way back so we, the people, could fit in the cab.I'm happy to report that, even though this wasn't the intended purpose for this mountable cargo bag, it worked amazingly well! We packed (2) 18" suitcases, 3 backpacks, and other small bags. All was secure and dry when unloaded, even after travelling through heavy wind and rain. There are velcro flaps that cover the zipper all the way around and this bag is tough and durable. The fluorescent orange patches and on the zippers are great for seeing in the dark.While it's not mentioned in the instructions, the black "non-skid mat" that reminds me of shelf liner, worked well to keep the bag in place during the trip. I'm sure the trunk bed being lined helped as well.Speaking of instructions, they leave a little to be desired, but I'm confident we'll figure it out when I can finally mount the carrier on my car. Meanwhile...it was a tough squeeze, but after cleaning and folding them, the bag and liner are snug in the included storage/ carry bag - ready for the next trip.

We ordered this roof top cargo bag for our 2014 nissan rogue SUV to hold a stroller and whatever else we couldnt fit inside while traveling with the family. The cargo bag itself is really impressive because the material is heavy duty and rugged. We did have to look up youtube videos on installing it, but other than that it has been easy to use. Great option for this car we have without a trailer hitch or rails on our cargo rack.

I bought a couple different storage rooftop bags because I want to have an easy way to protect stuff from the rain in the back of my truck. This one is a lot different from another I have. The fabric seems like a thick rubber raincoat. It has a concealed zipper and the zipper is one that is like on the popular coolers that keeps water in and heat out. The downside to this durability is it is extra heavy. It also comes with a carry / storage bag that has no real handles just strings. As it is quite heavy, you will need to carry this like a brown paper grocery bag or the strings will cut your fingers. I also had a little trouble getting it back in the bag. A different style bag (see photo of both of my bags) would work better. Also this one comes with a rubber anti skid mat but why not just build it to not move and scratch? Overall for what I wanted , this is perfect.
