I decided to try it out since it was relatively inexpensive and I really like Marbles wide fullers
I was hesitant to buy this, as it had no reviews that I could find anywhere, and the "made in china" tag makes me a little leary despite increasingly well made chinese knives now available. I decided to try it out since it was relatively inexpensive and I really like Marbles wide fullers. I bought a smaller Marbles knife a while back with a US made blade similar to this that quickly became a favorite. This is a fairly large blade, I didn't expect it to be so substantial! The tang seems to extend fully to the butt, yet not extending beyond the lanyard hole. It has a good heft to it with a fairly thick 3/16th inch spine, I expect it will do a fair job of chopping if needed. It wasn't very sharp out of box (edge burrs and a couple rough spots) but I always resharpen all my new knives anyway so that didn't matter, just expect to spend some time on a stone if it's anything like mine. It's razor sharp now after working out the imperfections and I'm looking forward to putting it through some testing to see how it holds up. The rubberized handle feels pretty good, a nice handful for a person with large hands, I was worried they would be too narrow, like a lot of molded handles. The sheath is pretty decent, a typical nylon production affair. I will probably make a new leather one for it if it works out but the one it comes with is perfectly adequate and even sports a strap for scout carry on the back in addition to the normal vertical carry belt loop. Overall so far I am impressed, seems to be a good value for the price!

Not a very good "slicer" out of the box
The knife blade is point heavy, the spine is thick, about a quarter inch. The blade geometry is a much larger angle, very much "chopping" oriented rather than dressing game or "bushcraft" task oriented. Not a very good "slicer" out of the box. The steel is hard enough that it will take several hours with an appropriate diamond hone to reshape the edge geometry. The handle is basic textured rubber, not especially comfortable to grip so adding a 550 cord sheath wrap may help with user comfort.Still not bad for a twenty dollar knife with functional sheath.

Very tough and very sharp! Homerun Marbles!
Very good quality. Glad to see Marbles making a come back. Just wish they were still made in the US. But, still its very well made. Very tough, will last a long time. Comes very sharp out of the box. Exellent price.
