We recommend sealing your plaster surface with a clear wax or sealer before applying your metallic topcoat. The clear sealer will allow correct translucency and ensure that the metallic wax is distributed evenly across your surface. When the metallic wax is applied directly to the plaster it may be absorbed unevenly by the porous, unsealed plaster. --- Apply one or two thin coats over Venetian Plaster using a spatula in cross-hatching motions. These metallic waxes are resistant to minor stains and scratches so you do not need to apply an additional sealers over them once they have been applied.
