Real leather!!I had the cheaper version of this Padfolio with the "Napa Leather", as Samsill claimed. After about 3-4 months of everyday use, the center middle (right wear I put my hand) was eaten away! The fake leather was peeling off, and after a while, I had a huge hole!After that I decided to go with real leather. This was pretty much the best value I could find. So far I am very happy with it! It is much, MUCH more durable than the cheaper version. I could tell right out of the box.This is one product Samsill go right.

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas. I just received it in the mail. I paid $25 more ($50 total) to get the Samsill zippered pad holder that was listed as "Genuine Leather." Attached to the front of the portfolio was a description paper, no where on the description paper or the portfolio itself did it say Genuine Leather. I am wondering if it is in fact leather. I should have gone with the cheaper one.

This product was a little more than I was wanting to spend but it's beautiful and well made. I needed something to hold my documents when I travel. I had been using folders, but this always made me nervous my passport, license, directions, and tickets were going to fall out. This holds everything I need with a convenient zipper for extra security. I could also use it for interviews but my purpose was a travel document holder.

While the quality and construction of this pad holder seemed fine, it failed in the practicality department, at least for my use. The "expandable" document pocket only expands at the top end, so trying to fit multiple documents into the pocket is cumbersome (if not impossible) and the documents get squished and wrinkled at the bottom. In the "questions and answers" section, someone asked if a file folder could fit into this portfolio and someone answered that it would. I found that while a file folder will fit into the pocket width-wise, it does not fit height-wise and you won't be able to zip up the portfolio because the tab sticks out the top. The pen loop is also an interference as it lies too close to the zipper and your pen will be under any papers you have stored in the pocket. The stitched pockets in the interior are fine for very flat items like a single CD or a business card or two, but forget about trying to stash a calculator in one; the pockets are simply too tight. The construction of this portfolio is fine, but the design elements were not very well thought-out.

I gave this to my wife for Christmas and she loves it. The leather is A1 top quality and it is constructed very well. The only down side to it is that there is no way that I could find to have it monogramed. Highly recomended for anyone needing a zippered porfolio. You will love this fine example.

Bought this for my Dad who had many administrative roles. It was fun to find a gift that he would come to use as much as socks!
