"Do You Want To Be A Friend Of The Cartel ?"
Over the period of the previous four series of Better Call Saul we have seen the character of Jimmy McGill's behaviour as a lawyer move from questionable to unethical and now having regained his licence to practice law under the name of Saul Goodman he begins the journey to downright illegal activities by getting involved with the Salamanca Cartel.in addition to his slightly dubious methods to attract new clients with his "50% Off" schemes he comes into contact with Lalo Salamanca and is induced into representing him on a murder charge and in particular with arranging bail which involves a car trip to Mexico and which proves to be more tortuous and a risk to his life than ever envisaged. On the personal side his long-standing relationship with Kim Wexler deepens whilst she juggles work responsibilities for the Mesa Verde Bank with her commitment to doing pro bono work. In the meantime Mike Ehrmantraut is having his own problems following the events depicted in Season 4 concerning the construction of Gus Fring's super meth lab.During the course of Season 5 we meet DEA Agent Hank Shrader (Walter White's brother-in-law from Breaking Bad) and also Lalo's cousins Leonel and Mario Salamanca the taciturn and ruthless enforcers for the cartel with their distinctive winkle-picker hand tooled Mexican boots (a delight in themselves) as well as other cartel members familiar from earlier episodes. I will refrain from mentioning any specific plot developments for obvious reasons apart from saying that Kim reveals unsuspected nerves of steel when confronted by Lalo who is interrogating Jimmy about the events surrounding his collecting the bail money. It is a sign of supreme confidence in the production of this show that an entire episode can be founded on the basis of the dropping by Jimmy of an ice cream cone on the sidewalk which slowly disappears over a period of time whilst it is consumed by an increasing number of red ants ! Also the now well -established routine of opening the Series with a black and white mini-drama featuring Jimmy in his post Breaking Bad persona of Gene Takavic this time around runs for over 10mins and concerns his cover being blown leading to a cliff-hanger ending of it's own as he decides to deal with the threat himself rather than rely on those who provided his new identity in the first place. The subtle delights of Better Call Saul continue to provide rich entertainment for the viewer and there isn't a single wasted moment in the ten episodes comprising Series 5. I must confess to a degree of envy for any newcomers to this show for the riches they are about to enjoy - there are very few programmes about just now of this calibre and dare one say it - does Better Call Saul in fact outstrip it's source material Breaking Bad ? I'm sure a case can easily be made that it does.Audio : English / German / Italian and SpanishSubtitles : English (Hard of Hearing) / German / Italian and SpanishExtras : Cast and Crew commentaries on all episodes / Gag Reel / Commercials and Training Videos / Crystal Balls.Extras exclusive to the Blu Ray Edition : Deleted Scenes / Tell Me Again / The Good The Bags and The Ugly / "Bagman" - The Ambush / "Bagman" - The Cannon Roll / The Effects For This !

Hooked
I really enjoyed Breaking Bad and thought this series Better Call Saul might be just as good. It isn't. It's better. Love this underrated actors work. The build up from Jimmy into Saul and how he became entwinned with the Drug Barons is brilliant. It answers all the questions. The little flashbacks all fit into the series as the seasons progress. Now on Season 5 with one to go. I shall miss Jimmy McGill....

Just as good if not better than Breaking Bad
I enjoyed Breaking Bad very much and thought El Camino was quite good too. The problem is I never really took to Jesse like I did to most of the other characters. My favourite character of all was Saul Goodman, so you could say I was biased in his favour from the beginning. I didn't realise until a few days ago that Season 5 was available, so I bought it immediately and watched it over just two days and now am itching to see what may happen in Season 6.

Still got it, but wearing a little bit thin
I liked all the previous series, but it now involves too many time lines. Simple is best. It’s enough being a prequel without involving the sequel post breaking bad. KISS - keep it simple stupid!

Another Great Series
Hopefully this is not the last series, because again it has been an excellent watch. Is the Saul Goodman character based on the British Legal System Representatives?

This show gets better and bettered
Awesome show, it’s awesome seeing the transition from Jimmy to Soul and what puts him in the underground world we first met him in in breaking bad. I think this is the best season yet

Slow burning magic!
I know she is going to die, it is so painful to know this yet I can help watching. Slippin Jimmy is on a roller-coaster down fall. The heavy drive to disaster makes this series addictive viewing, you can feel the dread eking out of very scene. Brilliant acting and superb writing, a step above the rest!
