We love it!!
The installation was easy, just hang it over the window sill and make sure the support legs are keeping the unit from tilting. It's great to have nothing big obstructing your view. We have side sliding windows and this unit is simply perfect. The noise level isn't too bad, it sounds like a fan and has a "quiet" mode. It is not as loud as the apartment wall unit in the living room,, which is a new AC unit. It cooled our bedroom down fast and kept it cool. The only con I found so far is the brightness of the temperature display. It dims down a little bit, after the initial start of the unit, but is rather bright at night and illuminates the bedroom more than I like. A sticky note did the trick and now it's nice and dark again. We had been looking for a window AC unit for a couple of weeks, comparing prices, installation and efficiency. My husband and I decided to give this one a try and are very happy with it.My husband works night shifts and loves to sleep in a cool room. Our apartment unit doesn't reallt reach our bedroom good enough to cool it down during the day.We bought the window closure for this unit as well and it looks very nice Follow the manual for wifi set up and not the app though, the later was rather confusing.

Be sure to get the 2021 model WS4 model to fix earlier issues
I bought this at the beginning of summer 2021 for use in hot and humid Georgia. My version is the WS4 model for 2021, so either they fixed the draining issues other reviewers mentioned, or I just got luck. Here are my experiences with issues that older reviews mentioned:1) The "FL" Drain Issue. I was prepared to deal with any draining issues, given the high humidity in my area. I've been running this thing almost every day for six weeks and have not had an issue. Also, the manual does mention the "FL" code.3) Leaks? None4) Odors? None5) Noise ? Most of the time, the Noise, Vibration, and Harshness is high. It's as if they didn't pay any attention to the acoustic engineering, and as a result, the product is not as thoughtful or luxurious and refined as others. The worst noise comes from the vibration of the chassis and the coil noise. Quiet mode makes a big difference.6) Installation difficulty? This is a heavy machine, and my window sill is four feet off the carpet. And I'm on the second floor, so all the installation was done from the interior. The heaviness made it more difficult to install. On the other hand, it didn't require any brackets or tools, so it's nearly plug and play.7) Can it be used in a horizontal sliding window? Yes! But it does mean you will need an additional window pane accessory, or just take measurements and get some plexiglass cut from Ace Hardware and you will be fine. You get to keep your view. Just remember that there will be security concerns if you live on the first floor.8) Is it worth the price? I think so. It's the first and only A/C unit on the market with this saddle design and one of the first hybrid split designs, so it fits a unique usage case. It's innovative and performs it's intended function well. It's virtues far outweigh it's vices so I'm willing to let some of the other issues slide. I would give this 4.5/5.0 stars, but since that's not an option, I'm going to round up.

UPDATE: It worked for a few days, now I hate it. It's loud, inconsistent, and possibly leaking.
UPDATE 3:I hate it again. I think it's leaking refrigerant because now there's a sweet smell coming from it and it's not cooling as effectively.I contacted Soleus for a refund or replacement, but I'm guessing they're going to make me pay the shipping costs for this massive, heavy unit. I honestly wish I had never bought this. It has so many problems.UPDATE 2:It stopped making the loud noises so often, and I learned it's not totally necessary to empty the water as often as I thought.Soleus contacted me and said I can't return it, but I can get it replaced. But the problem is the design of the unit. Customer service didn't seem surprised by my complaints about the noise and drainage.I still would not recommend this unit for how large, heavy, and noisy it is for the price.----UPDATE 1:After about a month, I've come to hate this air conditioner. It makes very loud, wet, buzzing noises all the time, even though I constantly (several times per day!) have to empty the water tray. Seriously, it sounds like I'm going through a car wash it's so loud, even on "quiet mode".I'm going to contact SOLEUS about returning it.----Original headline: It works, but it’s bigger and heavier than you think!Overall, I would recommend this air conditioner. The unique design makes it quieter and it lets more light in the window than a traditional window AC unit. And it’s keeping the room cool so far. However, it is much larger and heavier than I expected. I don’t think most people would be able to carry it or install it themselves. It’s a two-person job, unlike other similarly capable AC units. Is the saddle design worth the additional $150+ this unit costs over similar units? Maybe.
