Excellent Brush for a Welsh Collie and Clumber Spaniel !
Two of my dogs have thick coats (Welsh Collie and Clumber Spaniel) with medium to long hair. I bought them one of these brushes each and they are great. Both dogs' coats look lovely after a brush with this and the brush removes loads of the dead hair and undercoat really well. The brush is excellent for fluffy/hairy back legs and behind ears, and it really loosens the hair. The only thing I would say on a negative side is that the brush will not get out a really matted knot, which my Clumber seems to get every now and then, despite being regularly groomed - I end up having to cut these out, as no amount of gently teasing the knot will remove these successfully and also it is not fair on her to expect her to tolerate it ! This is definitely the best brush I have come across for longer coated breeds and they seem to like the feel of the brush being used, maybe like a massage ! Overall I would recommend this brush.

high praise
I have smooth coat dogs and longer coat dogs (Spaniel) this has been brilliant on both coats of my dogs, my Spaniels fur has been the most surprising she gets cots and tangles in her fur everyday I was using a slicker brush but it hurt her sometimes so looked around & found this, she has some dried food in her chest fur & had caused a cot I brushed with this a few times and it came out with NO pain to her at all shocking! Removes her leg fur cots, it is brilliant at removing tangles and leaves her fur lovely and smooth I love this brush it is brilliant on her ear fur. Fits nice in the hand, nice bright colours only issue is my dogs think it is also a chew toy and try to nibble at it so keep up & away from them :)

Nice brush for fluffy coats
Doubt that this would brush out tangles but my dogs like it as a daily groomer it’s gentle on their skin

Good for detangling but not great at removing undercoat. Creates frizz.
It is good to detangler the coat but it does create frizz which makes it difficult to brush as the furr is ticking onto everything after a short period of brushing. Relatively good brush but not amazing to remove undercoat.

Great for fussy cats
Bought this for my cats as one will happily be brushed whenever and with whatever (she's had a pocket human brush for a while) and the other cat, well, he just does not like being brushed at all. She's very happy as she's not really a shorthair and has trouble grooming right down to her skin leading to kitty dandruff. This gets all the undercoat for her and removes all loose fur with no pain or fuss. She happily lies there like a little sphinx pleased that her human slaves are doting on her.He, in a complete surprise, was very happy with the attention and wanted to be brushed more when we thought we were done. He even sat nicely for us and purred happily the entire time. They're both now super soft cats that get excited to see the brush come out.

Brilliant as an undercoat rake - I've a bin full of fluff!
This is definitely one of the better brushes I've tried. Two of my dogs have very thick undercoats and shed a LOT, so I've tried countless brushes over the years. This seems to get a lot more of the undercoat fluff out than any others I've tried and it doesn't 'cut' the hair like some Furminator-types, so the coat stays sleek and smooth too.Although it claims to be ergonomic and easy to hold, I find it incredibly awkward and quite difficult :( However, my husband says he likes the hold and finds it comfortable so perhaps it depends on hand size? Mine are, admittedly, really small, whilst his are standard/average man-sized.As a detangler / de-matter, it's not much use, but I don't think it's meant to be for that. I found the descriptions a little confusing as the two TT brushes that showed up on Amazon looked and sounded identical but one seemed to say it was for de-matting whilst the other didn't. I couldn't see that there was any difference between them though, so just went for the one on offer. The only other negative is that one of my dogs doesn't seem to enjoy this brush as much as others. He's usually very patient when it comes to brushing, but he constantly wanders off when I start with this one. The others don't seem to mind it and it could just be that I'm rubbish at holding the thing, so it isn't as rhythmic or soothing for him or something.Anyway, for £10 (on offer), this brush was excellent value and definitely de-sheds a lot better than most. It's also a decent size if you have big dogs.
