This game helped me frame my own opinions, and not rely on reviews.
Death Stranding is different. Its unique, its ambitions and oh, is it fulfilling. Here's my experience with Death Stranding so far. After almost a week of going through reviews, articles and videos of the game, I still could not frame an opinion of the game. Playstation games are expensive, and I had to make a decision. Eventually, I sold Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order since I was done with it's campaign, and picked up Death Stranding. I am around 18 hours into the game and... I can't wrap my head around the fact that people could actually admit to having a negative experience with this game. The beginning of the game caught my attention purely with the cinematics, until the gameplay kicked in which felt quite 'lonely' to say the least. But the tiny-yet-important things kept my focus - How Sam loses/gains balance, how the terrain acts as a gameplay mechanic, how ladders/ropes work. In fact, after a few delivery runs, I kept going back craving for more. Next thing I know - I can't keep the game down because of something I have never truly experienced in my life before - how 'online' works with this game.As you progress through the main missions (deliveries), you unlock useful gear which can completely transform your journey. Bikes, Trucks, Floating Cargo, Exo-Skeletons, the list goes on.More importantly, what you do matters. What other people do matters. I am not blatantly shooting around, killing anyone, destroying stuff... nope. Its a meditative experience. After a long walk I see a 'mushroom' with 600 likes, it cracks me up. After being intimidated by the terrain in front of me; I see a rope dropped by someone else - makes my day! (for the time-being). I am darn sure these things can never expressed through any reviews, let alone framed as an opinion. Sam's story of finding and holding onto purpose connects with the narratives of my life. A beautiful, worthwhile experience, is an experience unique to each of us.And all of this reminds me of something - many of these 'reviewers' who failed to like the game are often the same people who called a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 'slow'. An opinion is an opinion, sure, but at this point in my life I think its safe to admit that I can never again let a review dissolve my ability to make my own opinion. Finally, I think Death Stranding is one of the very few pieces of entertainment which helped me realize what I truly like and prefer. As a designer who wants to break in to the narrative-design field, this is crucially important.P.S. - Amazon has been excellent with the delivery, got the game within 24 hours of ordering. Kudos!

Late delivery 👎🏻
This game is different and fun. This game is not for everyone. It requires time patience and hard work. After playing the beginning 5 to 6 hours of the game I came to know that this game just been started it’s not like the other games that after spending 6 to 7 hours in it and you get to know that it’s nearly an end. People those are saying its a disaster than why did you buy it its not like you didn’t see the reviews before purchasing it. It’s the best game of 2019. As you move further into the story every delivery is getting harder and harder. I would say that people those are saying no guns and no shooting in the game get a life you people only want the same damn thing in every game. This game has great story, graphics and play through is also amazing. Deliveries are getting harder and harder and areas are getting full of BT’s which requires so much patience to pass through. I would advise to kids those only asking for shootings in the game this game is for adults so stay away from this game. If don’t like don’t purchase.

A cool mystery delivered in an excellent cinematic package
So get this. The game is a slow paced delivery man making deliveries while walking simulator filled with awesome cinematics, a convoluted but engaging story created by the master of mystery aka Kojima. The game gets low ratings as it does not live up to peoples expectations of Kojima. It's not everyones bread and butter. I was super cynical when I came to learn that this game is just walking from point A to B, stumbling over rocks and cliffs. As tbe story progressed, the story got me engaged. I couldn't leave the game. I wanted to know the mystery of the death stranding, even though the gameplay felt monotonous for a while.I spent close to a 100 hours of playing time dragging myself through orders after orders, building 5 star connections with the facilities, and still I have more than a couple left, just to get to the end of it. And when the story kicks, you are left with nothing but an urging curiosity. You can't keep your controller down. You just have to play.Thats the major plus point for this game. The storyline is fresh, inviting.I would even call it nothing short of a Nolan film, comparing it to the likes of inception or interstellar. The post-game is an actual interactive movie which I gladly sat and watched for a good two hours! It's that good. The building element is cool. Other players being able to interact with your structures and vice versa is fun and actually quite necessary to make your experience easier. The BTs are fun to kill. The MULES are fun to kick when they're on the ground. The graphics are phenomenal and I can't believe they look so good on a six year old system. Sound design is exceptional. The song selection is fantastic. I was introduced to Low Roar and I love them already. The things that let me down were the mechanics, BT fights, and the sheer amount of gaps between plot points for the first couple of hours in the game. It felt more and more like a task to complete orders than a fun and enjoyable experience. I just gave up on the whole completionist mindset 75 hours into the game and jumped straight to the story. You should only buy this game if you know what you are in for and you're fine with it. I went in completely blind, being disappointed for a while, almost giving up to completing it and actually loving it. It's worth playing through only once though.End of the day, I'm glad that I picked up a copy.

Gioco stupendo
Voto 10 e lode

Hard to follow story, but strangely addictive.
I only bought this game due to its impressive price (when compared to the criminal prices the PSN store tries to charge... £59.99 @the time of writing this).I bought a ps5 and due to the serious lack of ps5 titles I figured I would give this a try, first impressions where not good sure the landscape looked fantasic but the first 5/10 hour(s) gameplay is a grind (managing weight is hard to begin with)The game throws you straight in at the deep end not much explanation in terms of story background or games mechanics / rewards. To be honest I had no idea what I was doing and for what reason for my first 20/30 hours play through I was just going through the motions...I don't want to go into too much detail in case I somehow spoil it for you, I will say this though...I'm currently 120+ hours in and still haven't completed all delivery destinations, I'm nearly there but more on the in a bit.Sure I completed the story (main storyline) somewhere in the 60/80 hour range but there is still plenty of side quests to finish after that depending how fast you blast through the main missions. My one tip for a fresh playthough would probably be make an effort to get the main story to act3 to unlock vehicles (trucks) then slow down on the main story quests and return to your previous delivery destinations and get them to 5 stars (as you tend to get rewards/perks for 2/3/4 stars and a place to rest on the 5th). That will make your game much more enjoyable (easier deliveries). The online part of this game makes it easier as once you have connected (NPC) strangers to the network (become friends) you have access to other real life players structures bridges /ladders /ropes plus much much more. This makes traversing the area(s) much easier and more fun, it also makes you feel less alone (as you never see another RL-player). The same goes for anything you build when people use it you get a auto-like, they have the option to send multi-likes too if they wish to.You will be prompted with how many people have liked your structures when you log in (it's breifly displayed in green writing on the left of your screen) alternatively you can see a more detailed stat-screen on your computer terminal. Finally there is a director's cut due to be released in September (2021) it's going to cost around £54.99 at launch, fresh new content designed from the ground-up, new missions new areas, new gear, new game modes including races however if you own the base game (this game) you get all that including a ps5 upgrade for around a tenner... Well worth the upgrade price in my opinion.I paid around £19.99 for this disc, with the upgrade I will only be in it for £29.99.Given I have already spent 120+ hours on it. It's been money well spent. It makes me very glad I waited until I could get hold of a disc based ps5 to avoid the criminal charges the PSN charges (most of the time). As the headline states it's a strange game (slow pace) but it is really addictive (for some strange reason) once you get into it (and get some upgrades/equipment under your belt)I hope I didn't spoil anything for you with this review and I hope it helps in some way.
