Great book promoting why healthy thinking people make healthy churches.
Our pastor in our small group is primarily up to this point using the workbook to guide discussions. However sometimes references are made to the main book. Our class is supportive of each other and we are good to contribute thoughts about our personal life to help each other understand why we might be the way we are. Our group encourages each other and makes suggestions when appropriate to help one another.

Much Needed
This is an excellent book for the Church. It really helps in understanding difficult emotions that even we go through in life, especially grief. If you are not a believer, this book may just help you to better understand what hurt and loss is about and how to heal. However this is a helper to the actual book. They are both excellent resources.

Awesome read! Would highly recommend to anyone, whether in the church or not!
Quite possibly one of the deepest and best books I've ever read. Loved the emphasis on family history and the family tree exercise. Would highly recommend this book to those in search of taking their faith walk to the next level and truly understanding God's calling for an emotionally body of Christ.

Good Book
This book was helpful for our congregation, however, I am disappointed that the author/Pastor elludes to the Enneagram as a resource for personality psychological testing. (The enneagram was completely false and made up personality test.)And he also quotes Richard Rohr that mixes all sorts of beliefs.I will not be using any more of his books.

Great Companion to the Book
This workbook was used as a standalone in a group setting. It was a great success! As a congregation we were forced to look at ourselves from an emotional stance and ask the Lord to help us become emotional mature disciples.

Just what we wanted!
These Group Study books are providing what we need for a home study group we are leading. Having the text nearby for members to borrow and read seems to go well with the study guide.

An excellent read
A valuable read for anyone wanting to understand spiritually emotionally healthy people. Scazzero says “we can’t be spiritually with we aren’t emotionally mature “. He speaks from his own experience as a pastor of a huge church in New York. This is a must have for anybody who wants to be able to communicate in a healthy way and understand others in the process.

Covers emotional versus spiritual development
Useful for clergy and mentors/ coaches. Has a strong US bias and terminology but still useful nonetheless. Uses stories and examples to explain the developments.

A Strategy for Discipleship that Actually Changes Lives
To quote Mike Bickle, the director of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City: "This book brings a critical prophetic word of what the Spirit is saying to the church today, and describes the character required to contain the power God wants to pour out on His church. This is a must-read for every church leader committed to the maturity of the bride of Christ today."This book was written as a result of Peter Scazzero's personal, painful but liberating journey. We can learn a much easier way by gleaning from his insight and putting his recommendations into practice. An honest look at what exists beneath the glossy veneer of the church, and a desire to deal with what is really there, can lead God's people into healing and freedom. Find out how in this excellent book. I highly recommend it, not just for leaders alone, but for the whole Body of Christ.
