Jelly Babies: Adorable Quilts from 2 1/2" Strips From the Staff at That Patchwork Place®

all of the patterns are so cute! there's only one in the book that i don't think i would make for a baby, maybe for a toddler, though. the best part is that most of the patterns can easily be added on to so a bigger quilt can be made. also, i've noticed with many other jelly roll quilts that other pre-cuts are needed (i.e. charm packs or layer cakes), but this isn't the case for Jelly Babies, just extra yardage is needed for borders, backgrounds, applique, and backing (many patterns call for binding from the jelly roll).

The quilts in this book are not intimidating to a beginner quilter. Although I have completed several baby quilts and other projects, I still feel like a beginner. Quilting is an art- some art projects are over my head and some I feel like I cannot work enough on- I enjoy them so much. The projects in this book look like something I cannot wait to try.

Well written with easy to follow instructions. The templates provided are wonderful and the patterns are so cute. Great projects for all levels of quilters. There are even yardages gives if you want to use your own stash or convert to a different color choice altogether.

I think this book is one of the cutiest and fun little books I have. It hascute projects that are fun to make. I don't think it would be a good teaching book for abeginner sewer or quilter, but the projects aren't really hard either. I enjoy the book sometimes even to look thru and get inspiration.

This is a great book with lots of cute ideas for baby quilts. There is a nice variety of designs and none of them are too complicated. It contains many up to date designs that I think would appeal to modern moms.

This book had some very helpful tips for quilting with pre-cuts. The appliques look pretty good but I haven't actually made a quilt with them yet. I bought it for the Owl quilt and will probably make that one soon.

I bought this book for the Owl quilt designs, and this is lovely. The book also contains useful templates for appliquéd letters of the alphabet for another quilt. Other than these, I found the rest of the quilts rather disappointing. The colours shown were not very attractive or suitable for a bright and cheerful child's quilt, and whilst I realise you could adapt these to your own choices, the designs were not particularly appropriate for babies or young children. (One quilt is called Razzmatazz, and although the block design is quite interesting, the quilt has been made in browns, blacks and muted orange, not what one would imagine a baby would enjoy looking at.) They are mostly just based on traditional block patchwork patterns, which have appeared many times before in other books, and I would have liked to see more innovative ideas. Although the cover says the quilts are made of strip piecing, this technique isn't used to the full, in most of the designs the strips are just there as a convenient way of creating traditional blocks.

I haven't been inspired to make anything from this book yet, but it appears to be well written with easy to follow instructions.

Although it took a few weeks to be delivered, due to it being an older publication, it was well worth the wait! Great booklet with great patterns. Arrived in excellent condition!

Not used the book as yet. Looks very good. I love making quilts and have been very busy doing 4 different ones lately.
