Doesn’t work at high temps.
Up to about 180-200deg the needle smoothly sweeps round as the temp rises.Roughly at 200 it appears to stock momentarily and from then on it “jerks” it’s way around the dial and appears to be inaccurate.I have a Neff oven and at:Indicated 200deg it reads 200Indicated 240deg it reads 200Indicated 250deg it reads 250Indicated 270deg it reads 250Indicated 280deg it reads 250Not fit for purpose imho - item refunded

Is it Hot?
I bought this oven thermometer to check the temperature of my new oven in which I found that anything being cooked at Gas 6 (200C) or over, seemed to be burning. It has helped me to adjust the position of the shelves to get the heat correct, The only drawback that I found was that as my oven is low one, not eye-level, that I was unable to see the dial whilst it was in the oven so it was either knell on the floor or use oven gloves to remove it to check the temperature.

Oven temperature confirmation
Bit smaller than I was expecting. It hangs at a slight angle off the oven tray which makes reading the dial a bit tricky through the oven door. But have got used to approx position now. Very useful as the fan oven started playing up and now I can tell if its not working properly. When my oven is working properly the temperature seems to agree with the oven setting.

Adds value to baking!
Really useful bit of kit to gain an accurate temperature of the oven. My oven is around 20-30 degrees out so this made all the difference when baking cakes.Hard to see the dial through the oven glass due to where it has to hang on the wire shelf but overall good to use

Might be accurate
I bought this because I thought my oven was not reaching temperature. I am still not sure this is accurate in comparison with the ovens temp gauge. It’s called a dilemma and I am on the horns of it ! Lol

Fine
Same reading as the chef aid. So I guess both work absolutely fine. Not tarnished, glass in tact after permanent use since purchase.
